If you're planning on fading, option A is NOT a good choice to consider. Personally, I think you should consider an option C, which would be suck it up, and do the part rather than putting it on another individual at the last minute. I hate when people try shoving their parts onto others at the last minute. After this part, approach the COBOE about your doubts as of late, and your need to step down and back in order to get yourself back in order spiritually. Be careful how much you spill to him however, that's how I almost screwed up royally. Surprised that brother didn't burn me.

DC Brownie Points: Attend Twice. Ever do that?
by Open mind ina recent post i made on watchman duty reminded me of something that a few uber-righteous jws would do.
work in volunteer service at your own assigned district convention, but since you missed so much of the program, re-attend the whole thing again on another weekend and just "focus on the program".
i remember one super self-righteous guy talking me into going back to re-attend a saturday once.

Echoeing Magwitch and Empty, that's what I was thinking, although I never did that. I knew of many popular young JWs who did that including both single and married couples. I never understood why the young married couples did that, but definately knew why the single ones did.

Mr. Snowbird and I Are Reconciling
by snowbird inwe've agreed to compromise on our differences and support each other through the years we have left.. i'm seeing a psychiatrist today to deal with my difficulties that stem from a traumatic and tumultuous childhood.. he is willing to yield in his beliefs that a man should control everything and make all the decisions.. being a stubborn jamaican, i realize how hard that is for him.. we're going to renovate the house so that he has his own quarters.. that way, my boisterous g'kids won't work his nerves too badly.. just wanted to put it out there.. syl.

That would explain all your posts about women, lol.
That's the truth though, no lie. I might come home and sip a little something, and then turn the lights down low and listen to Isaac Hayes. It's beautiful music when you've got an adult buzz, and just want to appreciate sensuality. It's not piping hot sex music, but its definately romance, and appreciation for a woman's company music. I'm just sorry that when I was living a double life to the full I wasn't aware of what this music can do for a man's outlook on the opposite sex. When I post all that crap, its because the Henny is in my system and Isaac Hayes and Al Green have been preaching through the stereo to me. The Church of Love. By the way, Al Green's Jesus Is Waiting is one of the greatest songs I've ever heard, and the WT's music department should take note, because that song is an example of how to inspire worship. Not that crap CD they put out recently replacing Kingdom Melodies. That nonsense is for squares and people with absolutely no soul, no life, not rhythm, just people ready to croak and who enjoy listening to paint dry on the wall.
NRFG- So many different kinds of music. Right up my alley.
Some days I'm irritated that I went into trades as opposed to going to college, but in hindsight I wasn't mature enough back then to hack college anyway. Plus, I got exposed to all that classic rock n roll, which set me on the path to punk, modern rock, even some Nu Metal. I'm not mad at those experiences and might even give the Borg some credit for that.

Music is such a part of the fabric within my life, I couldn't imaginate life without it. Funny thing about how the sountracks to my life have changed throughout the years.
Early teenage years- Hip Hop, Reality Rap or what has often been referred to as Gangsta Rap. I thought MC Eiht, MC Ren, and Ice Cube were gods.
Young adult years- I started appreciating wordsmiths such as Nas, Wu-Tang, Boot Camp Clik, those years formed an appreciate of the wintertime and rainy days. To this day, I enjoy Autumn and Winter moreso because of NYC Hip Hop.
Young man years, ages 17-mid twenties. Started working in Tool & Die Shops, and other manufacturing settings. The white boys were the majority so they controlled the radio, and in hindsight I'm glad. Exposed me to Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Black Sabbath, Hendrix, Deep Purple, amongst others. You know I was actually somewhat scared to listen to Black Sabbath initially? Eventually I started digging modern bands of that time such as Rage Against The Machine, Tool, and Queens of the Stone Age. My mother used to criticise me saying Jehovah's spirit wasn't upon me because I was too busy raging against the machine.
Late Twenties, I'm angry and irritated and Hip Hop is still in an ignorant Southern phase, and party phase. Meanwhile I have urges to hurt people, but I'm ignorant of the fact that its this religion that has me so angry. Bought a mixtape one night full of early UK82 Punk, exposing me to The Exploited, GBH, The Crack, and Discharge. Greatest thing to ever happen to me. Eventually it led me into The Misfits, Bad Brains, and Black Flag.
As of lately, I'm starting to mellow out, and I'm listening to the music that I was probably concieved to, ya know, Isaac Hayes, Curtis Mayfield, Barry White, and I've gotten back into Hip Hop surprisingly.

What's Your Objection?
by 1975 inwhen i come to this forum and read the topics of the day, it disturbs me that some always have objections and comments that are negative.
what source of encouragement is there when one breaks down the story of others?
what's your personal gain, what's the satisfaction?

Some folks are emotional vampires.
I thought I was the only one who said that!!! There's a couple folks in my congregation that I call emotional vampires. One I was getting ready to a thread on as I worked with her in field service over the weekend, and that exhausted me.
As far as the forum is concerned, I think some people don't see themselves as being negative, or toxic, but rather see themselves as handing out tough love. I don't get offended easy, and I've offended plenty of people here on this forum. However, occasionally a couple posters whom I used to be fond of have said some things that have irritated me to the point of calling them out, but what does that accomplish? Nothing. Another thing is, to me anyways, is to remember this is a message board. That's all it is, take it for all the good and bad, and even insignificance its worth. I didn't really care for Besty's view of people on this board as the "anonymous peanut gallery", but there is some truth in those words. Like Jay-Z said when it comes to people with negative views of him, "Fine, it costs you nothing, pay me no mind." That's the way you have to view any detractors on here. I always liked what I heard an inmate say too, "If it aint worth killin over, it aint worth arguing over." That's the truth, its senseless to let a message board get to you.

DC Sunday Drama
by Billy the Ex-Bethelite inlet's call it a very ugly version of "joseph and the amazing technicolor dreamcoat" recreated as a musicless "a young life serving god ain't worth living.".
it included a highly fictionalized account of joseph being abused by his brothers for serving god and being loved by jacob.
there was no mention of joseph's dreams that degraded his brothers and father.

Thanks for the synopsis Billy. Another excuse to leave early and hang out in the hotel or elsewhere. You know reading this is actually embarrasing, like I wouldn't want nonJWs that I have personal & professional relationships to know this is what I take three vacation days off for every summer. I wouldn't dare invite them to one of these revivals conventions. Being a JW is often embarrasing enough, now they're just going above and beyond in spiritual buffoonery.
